The new standard QCVN 112:2017/BTTTT for radio broadband data transmission equipment is released by the Vietnamese government ministry and is effective July 1st, 2018.

The Vietnamese government ministry, MIC (Ministry of Information and Communications) has issued the new Circular No. 18/2017/TT-BTTTT, in which the new EMC and RF national standard QCVN 112:2017/BTTTT (equivalent to ETSI EN 301 489-17) was released. This is a new EMC requirement for both radio transmission equipment and data transmission equipment. The current requirement for broadband data transmission equipment is QCVN 18:2014/BTTTT (equivalent to ETSI EN 301 489-1).

The new standard (QCVN 112:2017) and the current standard (QCVN 18:2014) covers the following requirements for transmitters:

  • Radio communication equipment using spread spectrum modulation in the 2.4 GHz band

  • Radio access equipment operating in the frequency band 5150 MHz to 5350 MHz, 5470 MHz to 5725 MHz and 5725 MHz to 5850 MHz

  • High-speed radio access equipment, from 57 GHz to 66 GHz

  • High-speed radio access equipment, from 57 GHz to 66 GHz

Radio transmission equipment and data transmission equipment must comply with the requirements of QCVN 112:2017/BTTTT as well as QCVN 18:2014/BTTTT, starting July 1st, 2018.

All currently valid certificates do not need to be updated to comply with the new standard. All applications and renewals must be tested with, and comply with the new standard after July 1st, 2018.
