Publication of New CE RED Standard

The new CE RED standard EN 303 417 v1.1.1 is officially published on Sep 22nd, 2017. It's the harmonized standard for WPT (Wireless Power Transmission) systems which was previously covered by EN 300 330 standard under R&TTE directive. It was excluded from EN 300 330 in its latest v2.1.1 version to adapt to new RED directive. a new separate standard EN 303 417 was created dedicatedly for this type of system.
Per ETSI work item schedule, this published standard is being delivered to EC with a target date of Oct 13th, 2017 and is expected to be cited on OJ by Jan 15th ,2018.
EN 303 417 only covers wireless power transmission systems which are regarded as radio equipment since including inherent radio communication functionality or radiodetermination via the WPT interface or port at the specific WPT frequency ranges of 19 - 21 kHz, 59 - 61 kHz, 79 - 90 kHz, 100 - 300 kHz, 6 765 - 6 795 kHz. Wireless charging devices that without radio communication functionality will instead be covered by EMC standard, for instance, EN 55011.
Following table lists different wireless charging device category and their paths to achieve CE compliance.
