Chilean Regulatory Updates For Short Range Devices

Chilean Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications modify to change Resolution β„–1.517, 2018 to Resolution β„–1.985 of 2017. The amendments has increased a variety of their maximum radiated power limits, also add several new frequency bands allowed for previously included equipment.

The new resolution enforces the following regulations:

1. RFID devices can operate at 915-928 MHz, 913-919 MHz and/or 925-928 MHz.

2. Wideband equipment (WLAN) may use the frequency bands.

  • 2,400 to 2,483.5 MHz
  • 5,250 to 5,350 MHz
  • 5,470 and 5,725 MHz
  • 5,725 to 5,850 MHz

3. The maximum radiated power is 1 W. For equipment restricted for indoor use may also operate in the frequency band 5,150 to 5,250 MHz, with a maximum radiated power of 200 mW and a maximum radiated power density not exceeding 10 mW/MHz in any 1 MHz band.

4. Output power allowed for the 915-920 MHz band is 500 mW.

5. Changes to the limits of bands:

  • 57-66 GHz
  • 57-71 GHz
  • 61-61.5 GHz
  • 169,4-169.475 MHz
