The El Salvador regulatory body Superintendencia General de Electricidad y Telecomunicaciones (SIGET) has updated its rules regarding usage of the 900 MHz band for ultra high frequency radio-frequency identification devices.

All manufacturers of UHD RFID devices must now comply with the following updated frequency and power limits, effectively immediately:

1. The maximum permissible output power in the 902 – 928 MHz frequency band is reduced to 100 mW EIRP.


2. Manufacturers have the option of using a truncated band 915 – 928 MHz if the lower output power level cannot be met.


3. The maximum permissible output power in the 915 – 928 MHz frequency band is 4W EIRP

These changes have been confirmed by SIGET and are effective immediately.
