The National Radio Research Agency (RRA) of Korea releases Notice No. 2019-1 on the equipment subject to measurement of EM strength and absorption rate.

EMC applies to radio products specified in Article 47-2 of the Radio Waves Act. However, this is not the case with the following:

• Wireless equipment of mobile radio stations
• Radio equipment for emergency communication pursuant to Article 25, clause 2, sub-clause 4 of the Radio Waves Act
• Wireless equipment installed in areas where private access is limited, such as mountainous areas
• Radio equipment of radio stations that can be opened without reporting under Article 19-2 of the Radio Waves Act

Magnetic field strength applies to the following household appliances:

• Electric heating apparatus for kitchen operated by induction heat method (IH)
• Electric liquid heating device operated by induction heat
• Electric blankets and mats, electric beds. Excludes devices that are powered only by USB and those that operate only on DC power.

Power density applies to portable transmission wireless products (antenna power exceeds 20 mW and center point of propagation is located within 20 cm of the human body under normal use):

• Wireless equipment for mobile communication in Article 4 of the technical standards for wireless equipment for telecommunication businesses

SAR applies to portable transmission wireless products (antenna power exceeds 20 mW and center point of propagation is located within 20 cm of the human body under normal use):

• Radio equipment for home wireless stations under Article 4 Clause 2 of the technical standards for wireless equipment that can be opened without reporting
• Certain low-power wireless devices for wireless access systems (WAS) including wireless LANs in paragraph 5 of Article 7 of the technical standards for wireless equipment that can be opened without reporting, and specific low-power wireless devices for wireless data communication systems under paragraph 7.
• Radio facilities such as RFID/USN in Article 8 Clause 1 of the technical standards for wireless equipment that can be opened without reporting
• Codeless phones in Article 9 of the technical standards for wireless equipment without declaring
• Radio equipment for mobile communication services under Article 4 of the technical standards
• Wireless Facilities for Wireless Calls in Article 6 of the Technical Standard for Telecommunication Business
• Wireless Facilities for Satellite Mobile Communication in Article 7 of the Technical Standard for Telecommunication Business
• Radio facilities for wireless data communication in Article 8 of the Technical Standard for Telecommunication Business
• Radio facilities for public telecommunication services under Article 9 of the technical standards for radio facilities for telecommunication businesses
• Wireless facilities for portable Internet use, Article 12 of the Technical Standards for Telecommunications Business
• Radio facilities for other business wireless facilities, such as wireless facilities for radio detection and radio wave detection, in Article 4 of the technical standards
• Industrial and public wireless facilities in Article 9 of the technical standards for other business wireless facilities such as radio facilities for radio detection and radio wave detection
• Radio facilities for public use of radio frequency communication under Article 13 of the technical standards for other business wireless facilities such as radio facilities for radio detection and radio wave detection in the simplified wireless station, space station, and earth station.
• Radio facilities for production and performance support of broadcasting, production and performance of other work wireless facilities, such as wireless facilities for radio detection, etc. in the simplified wireless station, space station, and earth station.
• Other work wireless facilities, such as wireless facilities for radio detection and radio wave detection, supplemented by emergency communication under Article 15 of the Technical Standards
• Wireless facilities for marine safety network under Article 16 of the technical standards for other business wireless facilities, such as radio facilities for radio detection and radio detection in the simplified wireless station, space station, and earth station.
