Mandatory Certification of Telecom Equipment Postponed

Certification of equipment under the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) in India has been postponed until August 1st, 2019.

This is the second extension of the effective date for telecommunication device compliance under MTCTE.

The following equipment imported or sold in India are subject to testing and certification under the rules:

  • Fax machines
  • ISDN CPEs
  • Radio and transmission products
  • Microwave equipment
  • UHF and VHF equipment
  • MRTS equipment
  • Satellite equipment
  • Wi-Fi access points/controllers
  • DWDM equipment
  • Digital cross connect
  • Multiplexing equipment
  • SDH equipment
  • GPON equipment
  • DSL equipment
  • IP terminal
  • PABX
  • Media gateway
  • Signallying gateway
  • SBC
  • Soft switch
  • Router
  • LAN switch
  • Compact cellular network

Equipment imported for research and development, for demonstration purposes in India, or as a sample for mandatory testing, may be exempted for limited numbers of equipment.
