Acceptance of Non-Recognized Testing Laboratory Report No Longer Permitted

Previously registered test labs must now be recognized by the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) of Canada for their reports to be accepted.

Officially, certification bodies for ISED must reject all applications for radio equipment listing containing test reports from test laboratories not recognized by ISED as of March 15, 2019.

ISED has allowed a three (3) months grace period, ending on June 15, 2019 for testing performed prior to March 15, 2019 by testing laboratories that have been registered with, but not recognized by ISED under the new REC-LAB procedure.

It is the duty of certification bodies to inform each manufacturer submitting a test report from a non-recognized Wireless Device Testing Laboratory that these reports are no longer be accepted after June 15, 2019.

Certification bodies will also ensure that testing laboratories' testing equipment are accredited to the proper technical standards (RSS/BETS).
