Issued by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) of Vietnam, TCVN 7189:2009 and TCVN 7600:2010 will officially be replaced by the new standard QCVN 118:2018/BTTTT on July 1, 2019.

The new standard applies to multimedia devices (MME) listed as follows:

• Information technology equipment with one or more main functions: import, store, display, restore, transmit, process, switch or control data
• Broadcast recording device: the device contains the modulator used to collect the translation promotion; NOTE: These promotional services are usually radio and television services, including services broadcast on the ground, broadcast via satellite and / or cable.
• Or combinations of these devices

These devices have a rated AC or DC voltage not exceeding 600 V.

QCVN 118:2018/BTTTT specifies requirements for Class A and Type B multimedia devices. Class B is for residential / personal use abd Class A is for all other devices.

The objective of this regulation is the following:

• Setting up appropriate requirements to ensure the operation of radio services normal motion in the frequency range from 9 kHz to 400 GHz
• Assign procedures to ensure reproducibility of measurements and repeatability of results

After July 1st, 2019, certification bodies in Vietnam will no longer be able to accept test reports to the old standards.
