New Procedures for the Verification and Approval of Communication Equipment

The Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC) of Mongolia revised the approval process for information and communication equipment and resolved the procedure via resolution 29.

This process was revised in efforts to approve communication network and consumer equipment, to approve relevant technical conditions, requirements, normative documents and procedures and monitor implementation.

The purpose of equipment certification is to:

  • Verify that the product complies fully with the requirements set out in the relevant normative technical documentation regarding public interest, human health, and environmental safety.
  • Provide consumers with the approved choices, protecting the market from fraudulent and non-standard products.
  • Implement the relevant laws and regulations of Mongolia.

The scope covers both voluntary and mandatory certification.

The valid period of the certification of conformity is up to 3 years. Renewals can be performed 60 days or more before the expiry of the certificate.

The product marking is required for locally manufactured equipment and voluntary for imported equipment.
