Frequency Bands and Technical Requirements for LTE Equipment

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand opens LTE band 28 and requires compliance with the technical standard for LTE equipment, NBTC TS 1027-2560.

NBTC TS 1027-2560

NBTC TS 1027-2560 is the standard for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) using Technology Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA).

This technical regulation serves as the required standard that LTE equipment must show compliance with for type approval in Thailand.

Upon incorporating the new band, the frequency bands that require test reports for NBTC approval is updated as follows:

  • GSM: 900 and 1800
  • WCDMA: Bands 1, 3, 5, and 8
  • LTE: Bands 1, 3, 5, 8, 40, LAA/eLAA 46, and 28

As of September 16, 2019 all WWAN products using LTE band 28 and applying for type approval will require submission of the RF test report and SAR/EMF test report.
