The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) allocates radiofrequency spectrum for the deployment of 5G mobile broadband services.
Currently, the 700 MHz, 3.5 GHz, and 26/28 GHz bands have been allocated for 5G deployment:
- 700 MHz
- 3400 MHz to 3600 MHz
- 24.9 GHz - 28.1 GHz
Initially, only 2x30 MHz of the 700 MHz band and 100 MHz of the 3.5 GHz band will be available and the remaining will be assigned at a later stage.
The existing assignments for 4G technology will be maintained until December 2021.
This includes the previous assignment of the 2.3 and 2.6 GHz bands for mobile broadband services.
