Technical Requirements for Non-Specific Short Range Devices

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) of the Philippines issues a memorandum providing the technical limits of short range device operation in various frequency bands.

These updates were announced on February 14, 2020 and is in effect as of March 1, 2020.

The following types of short range devices and applications are included in this regulation:

  • Non-specific short range devices
  • Telemetry
  • Telecommand
  • Alarms
  • General data transmissiion
  • Other similar applications

The following table shows the maximum field strength limits/RF output power as prescribed by the NTC:

Frequency BandMaximum Field Strength/RF Output Power
6765 - 6795 kHz42 dBuA/m at 10 meters
13.553 - 13.567 MHz42 dBuA/m at 10 meters

244 - 246 GHz100 mW eirp

The limits of the technical parameters described here are not to be exceeded by any of the functions of the equipment under any circumstances.

Any previous regulatory change or update that is inconsistent with this is deemed to be amended / superseded.
