The Office of The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand has officially issued two new 5G NR standards - NBTC TS 1036-2563 and NBTC TS 1037-2563.
- NBTC TS 1036-2563 Technical Standards of Telecommunication Equipment of User Equipment in International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) Services using IMT 2020 Technology.
- NBTC TS 1037-2563 Technical Standards of Telecommunication Equipment of Base Station in International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) Services using IMT 2020 Technology.
The following changes were made to the draft version released earlier for the public hearing,
1. Changes in NBTC TS 1036-2563
- Clause 3.1.1 ETSI TS 138101-1 or ETSI TS 138521-1 are now acceptable standards for RF requirements in the 450MHz-7.125GHz band. Only 3GPP TS standards were accepted in the draft version.
- Clause 3.1.2 ETSI TS 138101-2 or ETSI TS 138521-2 are now acceptable standards for RF requirements in the 24.25 GHz-52.6GHz band. Only 3GPP TS standards were accepted in the draft version.
- Clause 3.1.3 ETSI TS 138101-3 or ETSI TS 138521-3 are now acceptable standards for RF requirements in the 450 MHz – 7.125 GHz and 24.25 GHz – 52.6 GHz band. Only 3GPP TS standards were accepted in the draft version.
2. Changes in NBTC TS 1037-2563
- Clause 3.1 ETSI TS 138104 or ETSI TS 138141-1 or ETSI TS 138141-2 or ETSI TS 137141 or ETSI TS 137145-1 or ETSI TS 137145-2 are now acceptable standards. Only 3GPP TS standards were accepted in the draft version.
- Clause 3.1.4 Revised the version of 3GPP TS from “3GPP TS 37.141 V15.3.0 or newer” to “3GPP TS 37.141 V15.5.0 or newer”.
Electrical Safety requirements are defined and equipment shall comply with one of the following standards:
- TIS1561-2556 or current revision of standard: Information Technology Equipment – Safety – Part 1: General requirements
- IEC60950-1: Information Technology Equipment – Safety – Part 1: General requirements
- IEC62368-1: Audio/Video, Information and Communication Technology Equipment – Safety
Type Approval Class B applications are now required for all radio communication equipment using 5G NR technology.
