The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has added product categories to the list of electronics and information technology that require compulsory registration.
This announcement was made on April 1st, and shall apply to the product categories in the list below as of six months from now.

For all the product categories shown here a transition period of three months, is available to representatives of the foreign manufacturing units that have a local liaison office, or branch office in India for affixing the BIS Standard Mark.
