The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand has issued Criteria and Conditions of authorization to use RF for general use UAV.
The main changes are as follows:
- Radar frequency 24.05-24.25 GHz 100 mW EIRP is opened. NBTC is in the process of establishing a technical standard for this frequency. Approximately 6 months after the technical standard is issued, Type Approval applications will be allowed.
- Users that bring the drone into the country for temporary use and will bring the drone out of the country after use are exempt from Import License.
- Users will now have to pay the fee of 200 baht (+VAT) for drone registration with NBTC.
- Any SDoC and UAV (drone) registration with NBT before the effective date remains valid. No action is required.
This notification is effective September 23, 2020.
