The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand has suspended Type Approval applications for LTE/5G NR Bands 28 and 41.
The NBTC received feedback that stated that some WWAN user equipment supporting partial bands of LTE/5G NR Band 28 and 41 can cause the Thailand WWAN network to operate inefficiently due to incomplete bandwidth.
The NBTC will decide whether or not the products supporting partial bands of LTE/5G NR Band 28 and 41 should be approved. They will also decide whether any further action will be required for the products previously approved with partial bands of LTE/5G NR Band 28 and 41. Until a decision is made, Type Approval applications for such products are suspended.
The main frequencies affected are as follows:
LTE/5G NR band | Frequency | Example of products with partial band |
---|---|---|
28 | Tx:703-748 MHz Rx:758-803MHz | Products that support band 28 but with partial frequency such as 718-748/773-803MHz |
41 | Tx/Rx:2500-2690MHz | Products that support band 41 but with partial frequency such as 2535-2655MHz |
