The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has added new product categories to the compulsory registration scheme (CRS) for electronics and information technology products.
Under this scheme, it is mandatory for manufacturers to get their products registered and tested to the relevant standards at BIS accredited laboratories in India.
The following product categories will be mandatory in BIS-CRS starting on October 1, 2020:
