The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) of Japan has issued a partial amendment to Ordinance No. 78, adding regulations for 5G products.

The change has been made to the “5th Generation Mobile Communication System” under the Technical Condition/Requirements for Specified Radio Equipment.

The following regulations have been added:

• Article 2-1-11-33 (JR): 5th Generation Mobile Communication system Base Station (FDD)
• Article 2-1-11-34 (KR): 5th Generation Mobile Communication system Land Mobile Station (FDD)
• Article 2-1-54-5 (LR): 5th Generation Mobile Communication system Base Station (TDD n41)
• Article 2-1-54-6 (MR): 5th Generation Mobile Communication system Land Mobile Station (TDD n41)

In addition, the frequency band of “n77 (n78)” of Article 2 paragraph 1 item 11-29 (DR), Article 2 paragraph 1 item 11-30 (ER), and the NR of TDD n42 is extended to 3,400 MHz.
