The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has updated their spectrum allocation for short range devices, adding new technologies and bands to the list.

The following technologies and bands have been added:

• Ultra Wide Band (UWB) 6000.0 - 8500.0 (6-8.5GHz)
• Short Range Radar 24050.0 - 24250.0 (24.05-24.25GHz)
• RFID 865 – 868MHz

The certificate validity for the above mentioned technologies and new allowed bands has been extended from 1 year to 3 years.
