The Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) in Brazil is now enforcing Act 4083. ANTEL says it is now mandatory to ship sample units for local testing.

When sending samples you need to identify the following:

• Model name
• Name of the manufacturer
• Origin country
• Traceability (Serial Number, IMEI number or other “codes” which can be used as evidence that the samples provided are legitim and fully represent the equipment that will be sold in Brazilian market)

The above details can be included in the following ways:

• Permanent label
• Temporary label
• Electronic identification (e-label/Software)
• Written in the product packaging
