New Label Requirements for Type Approved Equipment

The Office of the Regulator in Samoa has released their new labeling requirements for devices that have received type approval and certification.

This was after the Office of the Regulator trademarked a symbol to be used for telecommunications products entering Samoa. The symbol will be used by manufacturers and importers once a Type Approval Certificate and Type Approval Identification Code is issued.

The trademark must be displayed on packaging, warranty forms, instruction manuals, and etc. The Office of Regulator also reccomends displaying the electronic labeling on anything with a display along with the sticker being 3mm in height at the minimum.

This order concerns manufactureres and importers intending to sell or supply telecommunications equipment in the Samoan market. This order is effective as of June 23rd 2021.
