A New KC Safety Standard to be Published Soon

The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS), has released KC 62368-1 and is expected to take into effect by July 2021.

This was after a 3 month commenting period that was held for the draft.

This new standard will cover the electrical and electronic equipment within the field of audio, video, information and communication technology, and business and office machines with a rated voltage not exceeding 600 V.

This will replace the KC 60065, KC 60950-1, and KC 60950-2 in 2023, but will be used in tandem with them until they expire. Products that are currently certified under this standard do not need to be recertified, and can be sold on the market, but products that are new or are revised past the initial date will need recertification. Any items that have an administrative change performed are not mandated to update to the new standard.
