ENACOM to Require Local Testing for GSM/WCDMA Devices

The Ente Nacional de Comunicaciones (ENACOM), is now requiring local testing for GSM/WCDMA devices.

This comes after a second testing facility was approved in the country and as a result, will be required starting February 23, 2022. This is going to be mainly for new approvals while currently approved products are able to keep their certificates. The start of this requirement was 180 days from the initial release of the announcement, which allows everyone to start the process of in-country testing.

Along with that, products that use LTE will not fall under this local testing requirement due to there being only 1 testing lab in the country able to handle LTE equipment. As a result, foreign test reports will still be accepted.

Interested parties looking to get this approval for Argentina should contact their notified body for more information.
