New Amendment to Radio Regulations in Japan

The Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) have released an updated version of the Radio Act Enforcement Regulations, by adding ultra-wideband radio (450MHz or higher) and more.

The updated version of the Radio Act Enforcement Regulations include some of the following:

  1. Radio equipment for radio stations in ultra-wideband radio systems with frequencies of 7.25 GHz or more and less than 9 GHz will be used outdoors.
  2. Those that use radio waves with a frequency of 7.25 GHz or more and less than 9 GHz specified in Article 49-27, Paragraph 4 will be 1.75GHz
  3. Antennas must be 5W, and were previously allowed to use different frequencies for certain racing circuits.
  4. Specified low-power radio station for mobile detection sensor (radio waves with frequencies above 57 GHz and below 66 GHz limited to those that are used and do not require the provision of a carrier sense.)
