The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), has opened a new public consultation on the use of RLAN devices in the lower 6GHz band.
The main purpose of this new public consultation is whether to allow Radio Local Area Network (RLAN) equipment to operate at low power levels in the lower part of the 6 GHz band (5925β6425 MHz).
There are a few more things that the ACMA is also looking for public comments on. This includes:
- Demand for spectrum
- Use of the upper 6 GHz band
- Proposed low power limits
- Higher power devices and AFC
- 5 GHz band
The public consultation will close on November 19th, 2021.
