The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) published the updated "Type Approval Technical Standards Regulations, 2021" in the Gazette of Pakistan on September 13, 2021.

The main purpose of this is to remove devices off of the exempted technologies list, which means now they are required to undergo type approval. Some of these products include Tablet PCs with WiFi only (Non-Sim based devices), Smart watches with BT / WiFi only (Without Sim or tracking), and UWB devices.

Another note from the regulation includes EN 62368-1 being part of the acceptable standards. Originally, these changes were implemented on 25 January 2021, but the document for the regulations was only recently released.
