Updated Standards for 4G and 5G Mobile

The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has released Act 10002 & 10003, which include topics such as access terminal stations and mobile phones.

In particular, Act 10002 contains updates to Act 3151 related to the technical requirements for Access Terminal Station while Act 10003 contains updates to Act 3152 related to the technical requirements for mobile phones.

The main changes that are included in the list are things such as inclusion of technical requirements for 5G NR Frequency Range 2 (FR2) – Standalone & Non-Standalone inter-band & Intra-band non contiguous, inclusion of technical requirements for NB-IoT NB2, and update of the reference standards in the table below.

Because of the recent updates those these standards, there are new combinations of 4G and 5G dual connectivity (EN-DC combinations). As a result, ANATEL has allowed a 6 month period starting from Nov 29th for all manufacturers to present testing reports for the new EN-DC combinations from devices approved before this act.
