New EMF Regulations

The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) of Saudi Arabia, has released a new document on the adoption of the document regulations on exposure to electromagnetic fields.

The purpose of this release of the EMF regulations is to establish clear basic restrictions and reference levels for limiting exposure to EMF, and to establish rules and procedures with respect to compliance to the EMF regulations. These regulations are compliant with ICNIRP (2020) guidelines in frequency band (100KHz-300GHz) and ICNIRP (2010) in frequency band (8.3KHz-100KHz).

The main scope of these EMF regulations establish minimum requirements for the protection of the general public and workers from risks to their health arising or likely to arise from their exposure to EMF in the frequency range 8.3 kHz to 300 GHz, and all spectrum users shall comply with EMF regulations in accordance with section 1 and 4. Some examples of technologies that would contain or emit RF sources include mobile networks, private wireless networks, fixed links, emergency service communications, HF communications, and radio broadcast infrastructure.
