New Technical Regulations

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has opened a public consultation on technical regulations.

Some of the following topics include:

1) TR CU 004/2011 – Safety of Low-Voltage Equipment

  • -Proposed amendments to TR CU 004/2011 intend to introduce a certification scheme for applicants whose test reports or evidence of compliance are not sufficient; using test protocols issued by international certification systems; and specifying cases in which local testing is not required and approval is based on test protocols issued within the past 2 years if no changes have been made to the device.
  • -This consultation will conclude on January 30, 2022.

2) TR CU 020/2011 – Electromagnetic Compatibility of Technical means

  • -Proposed amendments to TR CU 020/2011 intend to introduce a certification scheme for applicants whose test reports or evidence of compliance are not sufficient; using test protocols issued by international certification systems; and specifying cases in which local testing is not required and approval is based on test protocols issued within the past 2 years if no changes have been made to the device.
  • -This consultation will conclude on January 30, 2022.

3) TR EAEU 037/2016 – RoHS in Electrical and Electronic Products

  • -Proposed amendments to this TR include provisions on utilization and recycling of user devices (such as electric and wireless devices) after their end of life based on the RED Directive 012/19/EU and WEEE-2; expanding the list of devices subject to RoHS to include metering and metrology devices, chemical sources of current, spare parts and components; and specifying exemptions to the RoHS list.
  • -This consultation will conclude on January 20, 2022.
