New Type Acceptance Criteria

The Office of the Communication Authority (OFCA) has released new type acceptance criteria for use in public mobile communication services.

The purpose of this is for equipment to expand the scope of this type acceptance January 2022 criteria to include user equipment employing E-UTRA FDD and operating in the 850 MHz band. Another purpose is also to comply with HKCA 2001 “Compliance Test Specification – Safety and Electrical Protection Requirements for Subscriber Telecommunications Equipment” issued by the Communications Authority (CA).

This includes frequency bands 870 – 882.5 MHz for downlink and 825 – 837.5 MHz for uplink. Along with that, compliance of the equipment with the technical requirements shall be evaluated in accordance with the procedures specified in the corresponding ETSI standard and 3GPP specifications as given in clause 4 above.
