The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has released a class assignment that confers rights on any person to use the frequency (ies) for a list of devices. The usage of devices under class assignment is subject to conditions provided in the class assignment issued under section 169 of CMA. No fee shall be payable and validity is only canceled by MCMC.

Some examples of class assignments include Walkie-Talkie (Family Radio System), Wireless LAN and Bluetooth, Mobile Wireless Charger, and Remote Control.

No application is required for Class Assignment. The devices must be certified by MCMC or its registered certifying agency.

However, Fixed-Satellite Service earth stations operating by way of Class Assignment are required to be registered.
