Release Of A New Revision Of Technical Codes

Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC)ย  had announcement of new revision of technical codes 15th November. These standards are already in place, the only difference is the new requirement on the revision.

According to the MCMC, the newly revised Technical Codes had the following changes:

  1. MCMC MTSFB TC T004: 2022;SPECIFICATION FOR DIGITAL TERRESTRIAL TELEVISION (DTT) BROADCAST RECEIVER (SECOND REVISION)
  • The operating frequency for DTT broadcast services is updated to 470 MHz - 694 MHz.
  • The document shall be used in tandem with the latest revision of the common test suite (MCMC MTSFB TC T011), which is currently being revised by the MSTFB Working group. Therefore, until the latest revision of the common test suit document is published, the SKMM MTSFB TC T004:2013 shall be used for DTT broadcast receiver equipment certification.
    1. MCMC MTSFB TC T006:2022;SPECIFICATION FOR DIRECT-TO-HOME (DTH) BROADCAST RECEIVER FOR SET TOP BOX (STB) (SECOND REVISION)
  • Updated the latest EMC Standards
    1. MCMC MTSFB TC T014:2022;DIGITAL TERRESTRIAL TELEVISION (DTT) - ACTIVE INDOOR ANTENNA (FIRST REVISION)
  • A grace period of 6 months is granted to the existing interim approval, whereby during this period, applicant is required to submit the equipment for testing at SIRIM to obtain full approval.
    1. MCMC MTSFB TC T015: 2022- IMT-ADVANCED (LONG TERM EVOLUTION) - USER EQUIPMENT (FIRST REVISION
  • An operating frequency of 800 MHz (LTE Band 20) is added in the operating band plans.
  • 700 MHz frequency band (LTE Band 28) is assigned for the purpose of anchoring for 5G UE operations in Non-standalone (NSA) mode as specified in the MCMC SRSP MS 700.
  • The โ€˜Caller Ring Back Toneโ€™ clause mentioned is not applicable to LTE UE that only supports digital features.
