Updates on SDOC Process

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand recently held a meeting to inform about significant changes to the NBTC SDOC format and the introduction of a new digital signature system.

This change will take effect on February 6, 2023, and is aimed at streamlining the process and making it more efficient. Instead of having the local representative company sign the SDOC, a digital signature from a person under a letter of attorney will be required.

The local representative company will still need to issue the letter of attorney, but they will no longer have to sign the SDOC themselves. This change is only a minor alteration to the appearance of the local representative's signature on the SDOC and is not expected to cause any disruption to the existing process.

To help with the transition, the NBTC has made arrangements to provide draft SDOCs, specifications, and product photos to the local representative companies for reference when requesting the letter of attorney.
