Proposed Deployment of 5G Services

On February 2, 2023, The Public Utilities Commission of Belize Published a Consultative Paper for the allocation of the bands 3300-3800 MHz for 5G services.

Operators will used a combinations of multiple spectrums bands to deliver 5G services. This combination will determine the speed and range of coverage. The combination of spectrum bands will span across Low Bands below 1GHz, Mid Bands of 1 to 6GHz, and High Bands between 24-40GHz. Specifically the PUC proposed adoptions of Mid Band band n78 for the deployment of 5G services in Belize because of the understanding that 3.5GHz band is considered a core spectrum band for 5G deployment.
