Laos' Ministry of Technology and Communication (MTC) published Circular No. 3583 on the Management of Telecommunications and ICT Equipment on December 13th, 2022.The prior MPT requirements Notice No. 2118/PTS is being replaced by this.This regulation comes into effect on May 1st, 2023.

Here are the new requirements:

Equipment that requires a certificate and notification of compliance with technical regulations is referred to as Type 1. Type 1 equipment normally requires sample submission, but not this time.

Devices of Type 2 are those that are merely required to report on compliance tecnical regulation

Validity of the certificate is now 1 to 3 years

Label required to be purchase from MTC. MTC has a list of equipment that are required to be affixed with a label
