ICASA has included the 5.925 to 6.425 MHz frequency range in the lower 6 GHz band for Radio Local Access Networks (RLAN/Wi-Fi) applications.
This decision effectively allows the utilization of the lower 6 GHz spectrum for Wi-Fi services. In a recent announcement, ICASA stated that they have published an amendment to Annex B of the radio frequency spectrum regulations of 2015, enabling the use of the lower portion of the 6 GHz band for Wi-Fi.
The specific frequencies covered by this amendment range from 5.925 GHz to 6.425 GHz. Additionally, ICASA has also incorporated the 122-246 GHz frequency band for Non-Specific Short-range Applications.
