Mexico’s Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones has just issued the Preliminary Draft Agreement through which the Plenary Session of the IFT modifies the document by which the “Guidelines for use of the IFT Seal is approved products, equipment , devices, or apparatus intended for telecommunications or broadcasting” are issued. Firstly, the Second transitional article of the “agreement by which the Plenary Session of the Federal Telecommunications Institute issues of the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal on approved products, equipment, devices, or devices intended for telecommunications or broadcasting” is MODIFIED, published on December 26th, 2023. And it will be as follows. The guidelines will come into full force on March 31, 2025. The second and third paragraphs of the Fifth guideline, and Figure 1, are Modified. The first and second paragraphs of Guideline Six and the title of the Figure 2, the Eighth guidelines, and all of the Guidelines for use fo the IFT Seal in approved products, equipment, devices, or devices intended for telecommunications or broadcasting are to be as follows.
The IFT Seal put be printed, digitized, or reproduced, in 100% positive black, 100% negative black, 100% positive gray, 100% negative grey. This is to ensure the greatest contrast to make it clearly visible, respecting the protection areas and dimensions minimum printing, scanning, or reproduction requirements as defined in Figure 1. The IFT Seal must be legible without the aid of magnification or magnification, and easily visible to the end user, considering the minimum dimensions of printing, digitizing, or reproducing. This dimension is 5.41mm by 2.6mm. In the physical and/or electronic marking or labeling of the approved Products, the IFT Seal must be included, in addition to the prefix “IFT” in capital letters and the Homologation Certificate number provided for in the Thirty-eighth guideline of the Homologation Guidelines. Graphic display of the use of the IFT Seal, the acronym “IFT” in capital letters and the Homologation Certificate number, in the physical and/or electronic marking or labeling of approved Products. The holder of a Certificate of Homologation and where applicable, subsidiaries, subsidiaries, and importers may use the vertical or horizontal version of the marking or labeling elements (IFT Seal, IFT prefix in capital letters, and Certificate of Homologation number) on the Products approved while respecting the minimum dimensions for printing digitizing, or reproducing the IFT Seal. In the Event that the Product is so small that it is not possible to display the marking or labeling physically on the product or in its box or packaging, nor can it be displayed electronically on the Product, it must be displayed physically in its manual as indicated in the Thirty-eighth guideline of the Homologation Guidelines.
The First Agreement hereof will enter into force from the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation. The modifications provided for in the Second Agreement hereof will take effect upon the entry into force of the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal. The vector file containing the IFT Seal will be available the day after the publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation of this modification to the Merit Guidelines through the electronic window for those who have a valid access and password, until as long as the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal come into force as established in the First Agreement and from that date the provisions established in the last paragraph of the Fifth guideline will be applicable.
