Egypt Sets New Guidelines for 6G

Egypt National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has published an updated version of its Short-Range Device (SRD) guidelines, which took effect last November of 2024. The updates aimed to increase the efficiency of the use of the radio spectrum, reducing interference for radio signals, and improving compliant use of spectrum by operators and manufacturers of Short-Range Devices (SRD).

The newly revised guidelines will significantly impact the key stakeholders like telecom operators, manufacturers, and importers of Short-Range Devices. These modifications will span across the Arab Republic of Egypt. With the primary aim bing to improve the efficiency of the spectrum, prevent interference, and smooth the regulatory procedures for supplies and operators of SRDs. The NTRA will achieve these goals by updating the current operational rules and imposing new, tighter technical and registration controls under the environment of the Telecom Regulatory Law No. 10 of the year 2003.
