First, the new band 6 GHz, which covers the frequency 5925-6425 MHz, has been introduced with allowed Power/Magnetic field of 250 mW e.i.r.p. and is designated for indoor applications only. Please refer to the reference standard EN 303 687 for this new band. Secondly, the 1880-1900 MHz frequency band has been added for Radio Microphone applications with a power limit of 50 mW e.i.r.p. This band is strictly for indoor use only.

NTRA’s decision in the November of 2024 to update its SRD guidelines reflects their commitment modernizing telecommunications regulations in Egypt. The allocation of the 6GHz band in Egypt opens up new opportunities for market products compatible with this advanced frequency for manufacturers and importers. While the updated guideline necessitate tighter regulatory scrutiny and additional documentation for product approvals. These necessary measures encourage a more competitive and interference-free environment for Short-Range Devices (SRDs).
