China SRRC Allocates 6 GHz Band for Wi-Fi 6E

The State Radio Regulatory Commission of China (SRRC) has officially announced the allocation of spectrum in the 6 GHz band for unlicensed use, paving the way for Wi-Fi 6E deployment in the Chinese market. This decision marks a major milestone in China’s wireless communications strategy, expanding available bandwidth to meet growing demand for high-speed connectivity.

Wi-Fi 6E extends Wi-Fi 6 technology into the 5925–7125 MHz range, delivering lower latency, higher throughput, and improved performance in dense environments. By opening this band, China is joining other major markets in supporting next-generation Wi-Fi, aligning the country more closely with global wireless spectrum trends.

For manufacturers and network providers, this update creates opportunities to introduce new products optimized for 6 GHz operation. However, compliance with SRRC testing and certification requirements remains mandatory before such devices can be sold or deployed in China.
