Switzerland Updates Regulations on Telecommunication Installations

The Swiss Federal Office of Communications (BAKOM/OFCOM) has announced amendments to the Ordinance on Telecommunication Installations (VFAV/OOIT), affecting Annexes 2 and 5. These changes will come into force on 1 January 2026.

The revisions cover technical requirements for various telecommunication interfaces and radio equipment, including digital cellular telephony, alarm systems, wireless audio and microphone systems, short-range radio, radio location systems, and amateur radio installations. The updates also include administrative and technical rules for radio installations operated for public safety purposes.
