Canada Issues Draft SRSP‑300‑Gen (Issue 2) & SRSP‑301.7 (Issue 5) for Comment
Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has released proposed updates to two key technical standards governing fixed radio systems:
- • SRSP‑300‑Gen, Issue 2 – General technical requirements for fixed radio systems operating above 960 MHz
- • SRSP‑301.7, Issue 5 – Technical requirements for fixed systems in the 1700–1710 MHz and 1780–1850 MHz bands
Key proposed changes in SRSP‑300‑Gen Issue 2 include:
- • Expanded scope to include all types of fixed radio systems (not limited to point-to-point)
- • Clarified applicability of technical rules across system types
- • New definitions of system types added to Section 2
- • Editorial revisions and structural improvements throughout
For SRSP‑301.7 Issue 5, notable updates include:
- • Removed content now addressed by SRSP‑300‑Gen
- • Changed RF channel spacing in the 1800–1830 MHz range from 125 kHz to 100 kHz increments
- • Various editorial updates for clarity and consistency
Stakeholders are invited to submit comments by November 19, 2025. Draft versions of both documents are available on the RABC website.
