Australia Introduces New Class Licence for Low‑Interference Devices

The (ACMA) has issued the Radiocommunications (Low Interference Potential Devices) Class Licence 2025, which takes effect on October 1, 2025. This update follows a consultation held on March 19, 2025 and sets out revised technical and regulatory conditions for several equipment categories operating under low‑interference rules.

Updated Device Categories and Bands

• • Wireless Audio Transmitters (WMAS) operating in the 520–694 MHz band.
• • Frequency‑Hopping Transmitters in the 5925–6425 MHz band.
• • Digital Modulation Transmitters in the 5150–5250 MHz band.
• • RLAN Transmitters in the 6425–6585 MHz band.
• • Radiodetermination Transmitters in the 13.4–14 GHz and 76–77 GHz bands.
