Mozambique Overhauls Radiocommunications Framework to Drive Digital Innovation

The Government of Mozambique has approved significant amendments to its Radiocommunications Regulation (Decree No. 75/2018), bringing the nation’s spectrum management policy into alignment with the overarching Telecommunications Law No. 4/2016.

Adopted by the Council of Ministers, these updates modernize how radio frequencies are utilized across the country. The primary goal is to harmonize Mozambique’s wireless standards with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and international ITU benchmarks, ensuring the country remains competitive in the global digital economy.

While the new decree is already in effect to improve administrative efficiency, the INCM is maintaining an open dialogue with the private sector.
