Côte d’Ivoire Launches Digital System for Type Approval Applications

The Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications de Côte d’Ivoire (ARTCI) has introduced a new digital management system for type approval applications, marking a step toward modernizing regulatory processes in Côte d’Ivoire. The authority began a one-month experimental period on February 9, 2026, during which the new system will be tested before full implementation.

As part of the transition to digital processing, applicants are now required to complete an electronic draft form when submitting type approval requests. ARTCI will use the information provided through the online platform to process applications and issue type approval certificates. The new system is intended to streamline administrative procedures, improve processing efficiency, and enhance transparency throughout the approval workflow.

In addition to the digital submission process, ARTCI has introduced a new requirement for a physical device sample as part of the evaluation procedure. This measure is expected to support more effective verification of equipment compliance while ensuring that telecommunications devices entering the Ivorian market meet the country’s technical and regulatory standards.
