Sri Lanka TRCSL Implements New Email Requirements for Equipment Clearance System (ECS)

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has introduced a significant administrative update to its online Equipment Clearance System (ECS). Effective immediately, the regulator now mandates a strict "one email per license" policy for all Type Approval and importation activities.

Under these revised rules, each Vendor License holder is required to maintain a unique email address for their specific account. This change effectively ends the practice of managing multiple Vendor Licenses under a single set of login credentials. The update is part of a broader effort by the TRCSL to enhance the security of the ECS portal and ensure better traceability for radio frequency and telecommunications equipment entering the Sri Lankan market.

For manufacturers and global stakeholders utilizing local importers as the applicant, it is essential to coordinate with your partners to ensure separate credentials are established. To facilitate Type Approval (TA) submissions under this new framework, applicants must provide the specific ECS login ID and password associated with the relevant Vendor License to avoid delays in the equipment clearance process.
