EAEU Enforces Standardized GOST CISPR 35-2019 Standard Under TR CU 020/2011

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) formally enacted Decision No. 79, updating the supporting standards framework for Technical Regulation TR CU 020/2011 on the Electromagnetic Compatibility of Technical Means. The regulatory modification integrates GOST CISPR 35-2019—identical to international standard CISPR 35:2016—into the approved list of standards, establishing unified immunity requirements for multimedia equipment across member states, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan. To manage the adoption of these updated testing parameters, the EEC instituted a phased implementation schedule, designating January 1, 2025, as the mandatory enforcement date for all new EAC conformity assessment filings.

To ensure a smooth market transition for original equipment manufacturers and importers, the decision outlines specific validity extensions for legacy standards. The application window for GOST EN 55020-2016, which governs immunity characteristics for radio and television broadcast receivers, has been extended through July 1, 2025. This transitional overlap allows manufacturers to maintain active market distribution while updating technical construction files and re-testing devices against the broader multimedia scope of GOST CISPR 35-2019. Furthermore, the decision phased out older standards, concluding the application period for GOST EN 50557-2018 in August 2024.

The inclusion of GOST CISPR 35-2019 impacts EAC Certificates and Declarations of Conformity issued for audio/video, information technology, and broadcast equipment. Hardware vendors placing multimedia electronics on the Eurasian Economic Union market must ensure technical documentation, local testing reports, and conformity declarations reflect the updated standard ahead of the July 1, 2025 transition cutoff to avoid customs detentions or administrative invalidation of regulatory approvals.
